Paris Saint-Germain’s goal hero Pedro Pauleta has hailed the impact of new arrivals Bonaventure Kalou and Vikash Dhorasoo after Saturday’s win over Toulouse.
The Portuguese ace scored both goals in the 2-0 success, as PSG claimed three consecutive wins at the start of a campaign for only the fifth time in their history.
They were Pauleta’s first goals of the season, but PSG’s new skipper was keen to deflect attention to his teammates. “Of course I’m pleased to be scoring, but the most important thing is that the team is winning,” he said.
“I’ve struck up a good understanding with Kalou but you know that it is never very difficult to play alongside great players.
“I said the same thing last year. The difference now is that we have three of four players who can score. One week it’s Kalou, then it’s me and next week it might be Dhorasoo.”
Former AC Milan midfielder Dhorasoo enjoyed his best game in a PSG shirt yesterday, and Pauleta added: “I know him well because we played together at Bordeaux.
“For my second goal, I saw that he was looking for my run and I also saw that there was a misunderstanding between the ‘keeper and the defender.
“So I took a gamble and I was rewarded with a goal.”
PSG sit top of the table with nine points, but could be rejoined by Lyon later today if the champions win at Marseille.
