Former Lazio and Milan defender Massimo Oddo admits he’ll be keeping a close eye on the San Siro showdown and reveals “I have no regrets.”
The right-back left the Biancocelesti in January 2007, but failed to gain a regular starting place and was sent to Bayern Munich this summer.
“I am very close to Lazio, but also Milan, as I won a great deal there,” he told Radio Incontro. “Without doubt Sunday’s game is very special to me.
“The reasons for my problems at Milan included a left knee injury that never allowed me to express myself the way I knew I could.
“The tactical system was also different to Lazio, but I would make the same choice again to leave the Biancocelesti for Milan, even if I do miss the fact I was considered a more important player when I was in Rome.”
He won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup with the Diavolo.
Oddo’s former clubs have had mixed fortunes so far this season, as Milan have lost both games while Lazio are top of the Serie A table.
“I think the problem is a lack of cohesion between the old and new faces,” he said of the revamped Rossoneri.
“I did expect Lazio to get off to a good start and their results are beginning to prove Delio Rossi was right.”
