Alvaro Recoba made his Torino debut and helped the team to this point, but Ciccio Cozza snatched a last-gasp equaliser for Reggina.
These teams started the campaign with a draw each and were hoping to go one better in Week 2. Toro gave Alvaro Recoba his debut just one day after joining the club from Inter on loan. Gianluca Comotto was suspended along with David Di Michele, who continues to sit out his betting scandal ban until October 30.
Alessandro Rosina was playing in a deeper role to make space for Recoba and didn't get enough power on an early shot.
Eugenio Corini and Rosina combined, but Simone Barone's lob skimmed the crossbar.
It was Reggina who took the lead. Luca Vigiani's free kick took several touches and was not cleared effectively, so eventually it fell to Nicola Amoruso for a deflected half-volley in at the near post.
Recoba earned a free kick and curled it just over the target, but Toro were under pressure and Matteo Sereni had to fingertip a Cascione strike out for a corner.
Toro drew level on the stroke of half-time. Recoba skipped between two defenders to carry on Nicola Ventola's pass for Rosina, who kept his cool to finish surrounded by Reggina jerseys.
Campagnolo parried a Ventola header after the restart and moments later the same player had a looping header that took a coat of paint off the far post.
Torino turned it all around just before the hour mark. Recoba's ball over the top of the defence sent Salvatore Lanna running down the left flank and his cross back was cushioned into the net off Ventola's head. There was controversy, though, as the ball may have gone out of play before Lanna got his cross in.
Recoba went off with cramp, his fitness levels obviously poor after so long on the sidelines at Inter, and was given a standing ovation by the enthusiastic Granata fans.
Reggina were still in the running and Amoruso acrobatically flicked the ball repeatedly to get it into the path of Tullberg, but the Danish debutant fired over.
Moments later Matteo Sereni fingertipped a curling Barreto free kick out of the far top corner.
Sasa Bjelanovic had an incredible opportunity, dribbling forward and his too weak finish flicked up on to the woodwork by the desperate goalkeeper's touch.
Eugenio Corini's free kick was smothered and on the counter-attack Tullberg nearly grabbed an equaliser for Reggina.
Joelson was unlucky to get kicked in the head by a Toro defender, leaving him with a bloody ear. This gave them an indirect free kick for dangerous play inside the area, it was touched on for Ciccio Cozza to strike low into the net for a last-minute Reggina equaliser.
