Serie A Week 12 - 11/11/07 (14.10 UK)
Siena 2 - 3 Livorno
Tavano 17 (L), Maccarone 18 (S), Bergvold 31 (L), Knezevic 42 (L), Loria 92 (S)
Stadio Franchi

Livorno won the Tuscan derby to lift themselves off the foot of the table and perhaps doom Siena boss Andrea Mandorlini to the axe.

It was another Tuscan derby and a relegation six-pointer at that. The Amaranto were in worse shape, propping up the table even after Giancarlo Camolese replaced sacked Coach Nando Orsi. Siena had just one home win all season and were coming off three consecutive draws, but Livorno had not won here in over 60 years.

Livorno took the lead after 17 minutes with their first real scoring opportunity. Francesco Tavano got to the byeline and thumped a precise angled drive into the far corner, taking Dmitrios Eleftheropoulos by surprise.

It lasted less than 60 seconds, as Marco Amelia managed to parry Tomas Locatelli's solo effort, but could do nothing on Massimo Maccarone's follow-up, as it took a decisive deflection to loop over hte goalkeeper.

It was an eventful game and Livorno restored their advantage thanks to a defensive error. Bergvold pounced on a soft Daniele Portanova challenge on the edge of the area to keep his cool and sidefoot home his debut Serie A goal.

The Amaranto were in control and just before half-time Dario Knezevic scored with a curious goal, as he flicked Massimo Loviso's cross up off his head with his back to goal, looping it into the far top corner past a stunned Eleftheropoulos.

Siena boss Andrea Mandorlini risks the sack and made two half-time substitutions for a 4-2-3-1 system. Daniele Corvia was one of the new faces and within seconds his header from Rossettini's cross was blocked on the line by Amelia.

Mario Frick was the other substitute and smacked Jarolim's assist inches over the bar, while neither Locatelli nor Maccarone could get the final touch on a Jarolim ball across the face of goal. Eleftheropoulos had to parry a dangerous Pasquale cross-shot and Maccarone wasted a golden opportunity from Frick's assist.

Amelia denied Daniele Galloppa's left-foot strike and a Corvia overhead kick went close, but when Simone Loria finally did bundle the ball over the line, it was too late to make a difference.
