Serie A Week 23 - 17/2/08 (14.00 UK)
Reggina 1 - 3 Udinese
Pepe 8 (U), Di Natale 63, 93 (U), Modesto 75 (R)
Stadio Granillo

Antonio Di Natale's brace handed Udinese their first win at the Granillo in four years.

Both teams had lost two on the trot going into this game and needed a pick-me-up. Fabio Quagliarella was suspended for the Friulani, though Dias Felipe returned from his ban, while Emil Halfredsson remained sidelined for Reggina.

Surprisingly, the Amaranto had the upper hand in recent years, as Udinese have not won here since 2004.

Udinese took the lead with the first real chance after eight minutes, as a Gaetano D'Agostino free kick was floated to the back post for an unmarked Simone Pepe's volley.

Luca Vigiani cynically cut down a Pepe slalom and from the resulting free kick Di Natale stung Andrea Campagnolo's palms.

Campagnolo parried another set-piece and as the move continued with Antonio Floro Flores, Di Natale wasted a golden opportunity to double their lead.

There was only one team at the Granillo and Campagnolo acrobatically prevented Aronica from scoring an own goal with his wayward clearance, while Gokhan Inler also tested the goalkeeper.

Reggina's only chance of the first half was created by a defensive error, but Samir Handanovic timed his intervention perfectly to close down Nicola Amoruso.

The second period was more balanced and Udinese were under siege in a long team move, but Handanovic managed to beat away Vigiani's fierce strike.

However, Inler robbed Edgar Barreto and sent Di Natale clear, the Italian international controlling with his right foot and smacking an angled drive in with his left.

Reggina got back into the game 15 minutes from time with a sensational goal from Modesto. He confused his marker with a feint and spun round to smash a left-foot rising screamer into the far top corner from the trickiest of angles.

Di Natale sealed the 3-1 scoreline with his second of the game deep into stoppages. Reggina were all up the other end of the field, so Di Natale had free rein to sprint forward and smash a right-foot finish past Campagnolo.
