Serie A Week 10 - 31/10/07 (19.30 UK)
Palermo 1 - 1 Parma
Morrone 3 (Par), Amauri pen 87 (Pal)
Stadio Barbera

Palermo snatched a point with a controversial late Amauri spot-kick, but it is their fourth draw on the trot.

The Gialloblu were looking for their first away win, as Palermo had so far only picked up one victory in front of their own supporters. Domenico Di Carlo saved his job with a weekend defeat of Livorno, but Fernando Couto sat out a three-match ban for spitting at an opponent during that game, joining Francesco Parravicini and Reginaldo on the suspended list. The Sicilians became the first team to prevent Inter from scoring, but it was a third straight draw.

This fixture has seen goals galore in recent years, Parma winning 4-3 last season and falling 4-2 the term before.

Parma took a surprise lead within three minutes of kick-off, as the Rosanero left their former teammate Stefano Morrone totally unmarked to fire in a corner kick with his right foot, the ball ricocheting in off the inside of the far post.

Fabrizio Miccoli nodded over the bar and Amauri was unfortunate not to score a truly sensational goal, as he chested down the ball and the overhead kick whistled past the base of the near post.

Palermo really struggled to create chances in the second half, threatening only from set-pieces.

But five minutes from time Domenico Morfeo nudged Amauri as he went for a header and the referee awarded this soft penalty. Amauri converted it himself, sending Nicola Pavarini the wrong way with his fourth goal of the season.
