Serie A Week 29 - 19/3/08 (19.30 UK)
Livorno 1 - 1 Reggina
Brienza 33 (R), Bogdani 61 (L)
Stadio Picchi

Erjon Bogdani scored against his former club to stop Livorno being dragged back into the drop zone.

This was a six-pointer between the two relegation-threatened sides and Reggina had the opportunity to leapfrog the Tuscans following their morale-boosting 4-0 victory over Siena. Livorno had just three home wins all season, but the Calabrians didn't have a single away victory and had scored only seven goals.

Marco Amelia limped off in the 1-1 with Parma due to a calf injury and so made way for Alfonso De Lucia. Alessandro Diamanti skipped past a defender at the byeline only to hit the side-netting and Erjon Bogdani's strike was smothered.

De Lucia had a nervous moment needing to rush out and pluck the ball off Francesco Cozza's feet.

Reggina took the lead with their first real chance of the game on 33 minutes. Franco Brienza spun round in the box and blasted his finish into the far top corner past De Lucia's outstretched hand.

Diamanti was easily the home side's most dangerous player and had several long-range efforts and free kicks.

Just before the break Livorno went close to an equaliser, as Campagnolo did well to palm a deflected Antonio Filippini strike out for a corner.

Livorno got a deserved goal through former Reggina striker Bogdani, whose header turned in a cross from the right channel.

Daniele De Vezze's snapshot was parried into the path of Francesco Tavano, but the former Valencia man couldn't make the most of it.

Tavano came off the bench, but lasted only 30 minutes before he limped off with an injury.
