Serie A Week 17 - 23/12/07 (14.00 UK)
Livorno 1 - 1 Atalanta
Galante 26 (L), Tissone 33 (A)
Stadio Picchi

The points were shared at the Stadio Picchi, a good result considering Atalanta's injury crisis.

The Orobici came into this game with many problems on their hands. Having been crushed 3-1 on home turf by Palermo last week, Coach Gigi Del Neri had to do without Jose Talamonti, Costinha, Antonio Langella, Moris Carrozzieri, Simone Inzaghi, the suspended Cristiano Doni and frozen out Riccardo Zampagna. Livorno had the week off as their tie with Milan was rescheduled due to the Club World Cup, but they too had Nico Pulzetti, Simone Pavan, Antonio Filippini and Marco Amelia sidelined.

The last time Atalanta won here in Serie A was June 5, 1949 and last season they lost 4-2.

Fernando Tissone drilled wide, but Francesco Tavano really should have given Livorno the lead early on. Ferdinando Coppola only parried a Bergvold strike into the path of Tavano, who incredibly ballooned over an open goal.

Pasquale's backpass was intercepted by Sergio Floccari, forcing De Lucia into a tricky save.

The Amaranto did break through on 26 minutes with Alessandro Grandoni's header from a corner kick, although it may have taken a touch off Fabio Galante in the six-yard box.

Tissone drew Atalanta level with a spectacular free kick that curled into the far top corner from a tight angle.

Floccari brought a tough save out of De Lucia, while Pellegrino failed to make the most of a promising opportunity.
