Serie A Week 18 - 23/12/06 (14.00 UK)
Livorno 1 - 1 Torino
Cioffi 24 (T), Lucarelli 59 (L)
Stadio Picchi

Cristiano Lucarelli earned a draw against his old club, but there was controversy at the Stadio Picchi for another 'phantom' strike.

Both teams were defeated midweek and Livorno particularly needed a boost if Daniele Arrigoni was to keep his job after a five-match winless streak. The two sides were level in 11th place going into this encounter.

Toro have been heavily reliant on Alessandro Rosina lately and he had the first real chance when his free kick clipped the frame of the goal after just four minutes.

The Granata broke through on 23 minutes as Gabriele Cioffi scored his first ever Serie A goal, allowed a totally free header on Rosina's corner kick.

There was controversy on 28 minutes, as Cristiano Lucarelli's header was flapped out by Christian Abbiati, although video images suggest it had already crossed the line.

Gianluca Comotto's volley smashed against the top of the crossbar for Torino, while at the other end Abbiati performed a stunning save at full stretch on Filippini's deflected effort that looped into the air.

Straight after the restart, Rosina's magnificent lob from midfield skimmed the frame of the goal.

Cristiano Lucarelli was kicking himself when he lobbed the goalkeeper and held off a defender before astonishingly flicking the ball over a totally empty net from four yards!

He made up for it moments later with a powerful header, rising above Cioffi to net against his former club.

Simone Barone picked up a second booking for a foul on Filippini, leaving the visitors in 10 men.
