| Treviso bow out of Serie A, but do so with their first victory since December 17 against 10-man Udinese. These sides have been among the most disappointing this season and Treviso at least hoped to bow out of Serie A with their first win since December 17, a 2-1 result against Lecce, even though Emanuele Filippini was suspended. Udinese were unbeaten in the League since Coach Giovanni Galeone took over and he has already earned a contract extension.
Udinese had a goal disallowed for Mirko Pieri's offside position, but the referee went back on his decision when the linesman pointed out the final touch to send him free was from a Treviso defender, so it was allowed to stand.
Marco Borriello waltzed through the Udinese defence and fired straight at the goalkeeper.
Udinese were left in 10 men for the final 65 minutes, as Sulley Ali Muntari foolishly performed a goalline clearance with his hand on Borriello's free kick. The red card and penalty were inevitable, which Borriello converted.
Substitute Tissone nodded a corner kick off target on the stroke of half-time and Adriano Zancope' performed a crucial save on Antonio Di Natale, who had been released by Simone Pepe.
Borriello finally managed to make the extra man count after 77 minutes, as he rose for a looping header into the top corner from an Antonio Filippini cross.
