Serie A Week 38 - 14/5/06 (14.00 UK)
Siena 0 - 0 Livorno
Stadio Franchi

The Tuscan derby ended goalless in what could well be Carlo Mazzone's final Serie A appearance.

The Tuscan derby concluded the campaign and Amaranto starlets Cristiano Lucarelli and Marco Amelia were hoping to sway Marcello Lippi into giving them a World Cup ticket. Raffaele Palladino also celebrated his call for the Under-21 European Championships. It was Carlo Mazzone's final game on the Livorno bench and, at 791 Serie A appearances, possibly the last of his career.

Stefano Morrone's powerful effort was the first of the match, then Cristiano Lucarelli's free kick failed to trouble Antonio Mirante.

Siena went close when Acerbis flew to palm a spectacular Enrico Chiesa overhead kick out from under the bar.

Just before the break, Mirante had his palms stung by a Lucarelli volley.

Chiesa curled just wide from distance and a splendid Morrone counter-attack was off target.

Livorno shook the frame of the goal when Paulinho combined with Palladino and the Italian's effort cannoned off the upright.
