| | | | | | Marino: We didn't make it easy |
Friday 3 October, 2008 | | Udinese Coach Pasquale Marino was visibly relieved after his side overcame Borussia Dortmund on penalties last night.
The Friulani saw a 2-0 first-leg lead dissolve in their UEFA Cup first round clash but they saw off their German opponents on penalties.
We can blame our approach to the game for the fact that we needed penalties, Marino admitted
We started the game too slowly and then we conceded in the last minute - we don't do things the easy way.
However, we changed in the second half and we weren't demoralised after normal time and we went in search of a winner in extra-time - it would've been a shame to go out.
Well done to goalkeeper Samir Handanovic and also to the players who scored their penalties for us.
