| Amauri honoured by Lippi praise |

Juventus striker Amauri is over the moon after hearing that Italy Coach Marcello Lippi is keen to call him up for La Nazionale.
The 28-year-old Brazilian has lived in Italy for seven years and is soon expected to receive an Italian passport, which would allow the Azzurri to pick him.
“To know that La Nazionale, the world champions, have an eye on me is a motive of pride,” said the former Palermo frontman, who has scored five goals in nine starts for Juventus this season.
Amauri appears to have ruled out playing for Brazil after Selecao Coach Dunga told him he prefers Inter’s troubled hitman Adriano.
“That’s no problem,” he admitted. “I’ll go down my street. I arrived here as a perfect stranger and step-by-step I have built my name. I am ready to show my value.”
Amauri has netted some important goals in a difficult season for Juventus, the most notable coming in the Champions League at home to Real Madrid.
“That against Real Madrid has been the goal I wanted, the goal I dreamed of. To score the match winner was a very beautiful moment. I hope that it is the first of many goals.”
Amauri also waxed lyrical about his move to Juventus essentially because it allows him to play in Europe.
“I have always dreamed of playing in a great team, of playing in the Champions League. For me, it is the most beautiful tournament in the world because you face the best players and teams.”
Speaking to Sky Italia, Amauri talked his hosts through Juventus’ aims for the remainder of this season.
“The objective is what we said it was at the beginning of the season. We want to be the queen of Italy and Europe, win the Scudetto and the Champions League.”
Amauri is also looking forward to this weekend’s match between Juventus and Roma, who are unexpectedly struggling in Serie A.
“It is a fascinating and beautiful game,” concluded Amauri. “Looking beyond the problems Roma are going through, they are always a great team. It is a wonderful match up, a test-bed.”
