Camolese set for Livorno
Wednesday 10 October, 2007

Giancarlo Camolese claims that he is set to take the Livorno job after the dismissal of Fernando Orsi yesterday.

President Aldo Spinelli axed Orsi after a miserable start to the campaign that has seen the Tuscans rooted to the foot of the table as they await their first win.

It appears that this year’s Serie A sack race winner will be replaced by the man who picked up that dubious honour in last term’s Serie B.

Camolese was dismissed by Vicenza after just five games, but he did save Reggina from the drop in 2003-04 before the arrival of Walter Mazzarri.

“I’m just waiting for the call to put on the Livorno colours and start work,” the Turin-born tactician explained.

“I met Spinelli in Genoa and I’m just dropping back to Turin while we sort out the final details.”

An official announcement from Spinelli is expected within the next 48 hours.
