Inler sets sights on Inter
Friday 7 November, 2008

Udinese are on a roll and Gokhan Inler can’t wait to keep the momentum going against Inter on Sunday.

“We won a difficult game against a strong opponent on a synthetic pitch we were unaccustomed to,” he said of Thursday’s 2-1 UEFA Cup victory away to Spartak Moscow.

“These three points are precious for getting through the group phase. Aside from the result, I would like to underline that once again all the players gave their best and were ready for the challenge. We are a great squad.”

The Friulani were top of the table before last week’s 2-2 draw with Genoa saw them leapfrogged by Milan and have another test of their credentials against Inter.

“It is going to be a fantastic game,” grinned the Swiss midfielder. “We are taking on a very strong side and have a wonderful opportunity to prove our worth.

“We need to try to develop our style of play even against such a prestigious opponent as Inter.”
