| Fiorentina patron Andrea Della Valle has spoken of his “deep regret” at the Viola's draw with Bayern Munich but praises his side's efforts.
The Tuscans' Champions League adventure is as good as over after a late Bayern equaliser at the Stadio Artemio Franchi last night.
“There is a great feeling of regret,” Della Valle lamented after the final whistle in Florence.
“Again Fiorentina deserved more than they got. In our four Champions League games nobody has dominated us and that just deepens the regret.
“After Adrian Mutu's goal we had two or three chances to close the game and it's a real shame we didn't take those - we were unlucky.
“Now we have to focus on the championship, even if we still believe in the Cup, and the lads deserve a round of applause.”
