Udinese Coach Pasquale Marino warns that his side cannot afford any more mistakes after three straight defeats.
They were top of the table only a few weeks ago, but back-to-back losses against Inter, Reggina and Fiorentina have seen them plummet.
“It is a difficult period in terms of results, but not with regards to performance,” insisted Marino.
“It can also be said that we have put ourselves in a great position to qualify in the UEFA Cup, went through to the next phase of the Coppa Italia and, according to the Italy Coach, played one of the best games of the season in Florence.”
That highly entertaining 4-2 loss to Fiorentina was admired by Azzurri tactician Marcello Lippi, who said it was a great advertisement for Serie A.
However, results are now imperative and Marino realises his side have no excuses against bottom of the table Chievo.
“This is not a last chance saloon for us, nor should it even create any anxiety, because it would only be counter-productive.
“Every game has its hidden dangers. We know it is difficult to face a side desperate for points and we must not repeat the mistake we made against Reggina.
“I am convinced that a focused and wide awake Udinese can put in a great performance and consequently are more likely to get a result.”
