Carlo Ancelotti admits he is forced to reshuffle his squad after losing Kaka and Gennaro Gattuso for the tough trip to Palermo.
The Brazilian is suspended, while Gattuso “is suffering from a back problem,” joining the injured Marco Borriello and Alessandro Nesta.
“The squad is able to make do regardless of any absentees,” assured the tactician. “For example, Massimo Ambrosini is back and we have eight defenders, including Philip Senderos.
“My only real doubt right now is over where to use Clarence Seedorf, so we’ll see which system we will adopt.”
The Rossoneri need to prove themselves in Sicily, where they lost last season, as two dramatic late 2-2 draws on the trot have seen them drop points at Torino and Portsmouth.
“In recent games some limitations of the side have emerged, but we are counting on fixing those issues, above all in terms of keeping hold of a lead by remaining more balanced and compact.
“Palermo are a fearsome opponent, as they have quality players who can above all cause problems when going forward.”
Ronaldinho came off the bench to score a sensational free kick at Fratton Park on Thursday and hopes to continue his splendid form in Sicily.
“He has done more than we expected,” noted Ancelotti. “He arrived here in poor physical condition and amazed everyone by giving something extra to this team.”
Milan squad: Abbiati, Dida, Kalac, Antonini, Bonera, Favalli, Jankulovski, Kaladze, Maldini, Senderos, Zambrotta, Ambrosini, Cardacio, Emerson, Flamini, Pirlo, Seedorf, Inzaghi, Pato, Shevchenko, Ronaldinho.
