Gargano: Napoli don't fear Inter
Saturday 29 November, 2008

Napoli have made their mark as giant-killers and Walter Gargano is confident they can do it against Inter on Sunday.

“We will be extraordinarily motivated with Inter. They will have to fear us, because we’ll certainly try to cause an upset,” said the Uruguayan midfielder.

“Of course, to win we must be concentrated, wide awake and above all play without fear. After all, on the pitch it’s always 11 men against 11.”

Teams that have learned this lesson in recent weeks include Juventus, Fiorentina, Lazio and Sampdoria.

Confidence could be further boosted by Inter’s midweek shock defeat to Panathinaikos, although Gargano sees that as more of a hindrance than a help.

“Every match is entirely difference and don’t forget last week Jose Mourinho’s side beat Juventus with a great performance.

“That was the real Inter, not the one we saw on Wednesday. In fact, I’d have been happier if they had won 3-0, as they would’ve been less focused.”

Napoli also need to get back on track after losing their 100 per cent home record last week in a last-gasp 2-2 draw with Cagliari.

They are particularly eager to impress at San Siro, where they fell to Milan earlier this season when Ronaldinho’s stoppage-time free kick took a deflection off German Denis.
