Wednesday 26 November, 2008 |
| Roma goalkeeper Alexander Doni has stressed the importance of tonight's Champions League battle against CFR Cluj.
The Giallorossi lost 2-1 to the Romanians at home back in September, but they have turned things around with wins over Bordeaux and Chelsea.
After a derby triumph over Lazio and a resounding 3-0 victory over Lecce, confidence is flowing again in the Lupi camp.
The team has improved - we have found a better balance and are in great shape, Doni told the Corriere dello Sport.
We have welcomed important players back from injury and we must continue to string together the results in Serie A and in Europe.
Champions League qualification is what we want and the game against Cluj is very important.
A win in Romania would help us massively when Bordeaux come to the Stadio Olimpico and it is crucial that we progress in this competition.
Roma may have to do without Montenegrin striker Mirko Vucinic, who is suffering from a fever.
CFR Cluj (probable): Stancioiu; Panin, Cadu, De Sousa, Pereira; Dubarbier, Dani, Trica, Deac; Culio; Y Koné
Roma (probable): Doni; Cassetti, Mexes, Juan, Tonetto; De Rossi, Taddei, Brighi; Perrotta; Totti, Julio Baptista
