Chiellini: Bianconeri are back
Tuesday 25 November, 2008

Giorgio Chiellini is confident the draw in St Petersburg has made up for Juventus' Serie A defeat at Inter.

“This was very important to us, as we were still disappointed at not putting in the performance we wanted in Milan,” said the defender after a 0-0 with Zenit.

“It was crucial to send out a sign that we are the great team we were during that run of seven consecutive victories.

“In my view we showed the right approach and hunger and we saw the real Juve back on the field again.”

The Bianconeri were already qualified for the next phase of the Champions League before this draw in Russia, but did not field a weakened side.

Chiellini performed several crucial sliding tackles to keep out the Zenit strikers and continued his impressive period of form.

“I am doing well, but I am also well aware that I have to improve a great deal, even if in this season I am keeping up a consistent quality.

“I hope to continue like this and to make myself a fixture for both Juve and the Nazionale.”
