Bomb explodes in Saint Petersburg
Tuesday 25 November, 2008

Juventus' clash with Zenit St Petersburg this evening has been overshadowed by a bomb blast in the Russian city.

The Old Lady are in Saint Petersburg to take on Zenit in a Champions League encounter with their place in the last 16 already assured.

But the city has been rocked by a car bomb, which killed three people, reportedly including a child.

“A car exploded near the metro station Udelnaya at 8.55am,” a statement from official Andrey Alybayev read.

“The explosion could have been caused by a grenade and it killed three people, one of whom was a three-year-old.”

A minute's silence is likely to be observed before tonight's game at the Petrovsky Stadium.
