| | | | | | De Biasi slams penalty complaints |
Sunday 23 November, 2008 |
| Torino boss Gianni De Biasi swept aside any controversy over the two penalty incidents. I don't see how anyone can argue with these decisions.
His side held Milan 2-2 with an Alessandro Rosina spot-kick for Kakha Kaladze's handling offence, but Francesco Pratali had a similar incident to block Ronaldinho's shot and no penalty was given.
I too am annoyed by the difference in refereeing judgements. We have seen four goals conceded in the previous 12 rounds.
I am sorry, but Ronaldinho shot from a couple of metres and there was no way Pratali was going to get out of the way.
As for the other one, Kaladze had his arm out and evidently that was a spot-kick. I don't see how anyone can argue with these decisions.
At the time Milan were leading 2-1 thanks to Alexandre Pato and a Ronaldinho free kick, though Roberto Stellone had opened the scoring for Torino.
Tonight we put in a great performance against a side in fine form. If we concentrate on the incidents then we lose sight of the whole game in context, complained an irritated De Biasi.
We played well up until the goal, then made life difficult for ourselves with some mistakes. For the first 20 minutes of the second half we pinned Milan back into their own half and I'd say it was a more than deserved point.
We tried to remain calm, even when Milan held possession, and hit them on the break quickly when we had the chance to find the space. We made a few mistakes, but our current place in the table does not help us to keep our cool.
Alessandro Rosina returned after a spell on the bench and continually troubled the Rossoneri down the left flank with aid from Matteo Rubin.
Down that flank we thought we could really attack them, as Milan are decidedly stronger down the other channel with Ronaldinho, [Clarence] Seedorf and [Marek] Jankulovski.
Unfortunately Rosina has had fitness problems that limited his performances. I am convinced he is a crucial player for us who can invent and take people on.
It also wasn't easy for him to take that penalty, as he always used to practice them with [Christian] Abbiati last season.
