Serie A: Post-Match Comments
Sunday 23 November, 2008

Bologna 1-1 Palermo
Sinisa Mihajlovic: “I didn’t expect that equaliser, especially as we could’ve finished the game off earlier with Marco Di Vaio hitting the bar. This is football, as we snatched a last-gasp draw with Roma and this time were on the other end. The important thing is not to get downhearted.”
Davide Ballardini: “We were slow in the first half and didn’t move off the ball, but with great intensity we created eight or nine chances after the break. Bologna didn’t do much in attack because we had most of the possession.”

Chievo 0-2 Siena
Mimmo Di Carlo: “Since I arrived we have conceded five goals, one of which was a splendid Alessandro Del Piero free kick, the other four penalties. I think the spot-kicks were deserved, although we also had an excellent shout for a push on Giampiero Pinzi. We held out for 70 minutes, but must now look forward, as with two straight wins we can quickly climb the standings.”
Marco Giampaolo: “It was an important and deserved victory. It’s true we only scored from the spot, but we had several opportunities before that too. We hadn’t done well away up until now, as we were facing tough sides. It’s pleasing to have 16 points, but above all to play good football.”

Lazio 1-1 Genoa
Delio Rossi: “It was an entertaining game between two strong sides. The trident attack is still a work in progress, but I will find the right balance for this team.”
Gian Piero Gasperini: “Overall we played well, created many chances, missing a penalty and conceding a goal that frankly robbed us of two points. You need a bit of luck to win away from home and we haven’t had that yet. It’s a shame, but the referee’s mistake on Diego Milito’s goal was serious, as it seemed pretty easy to judge. It’s a shame Rubinho made that error, but he deserves praise for doing so well with a string of other saves.”

Lecce 0-3 Roma
Mario Beretta: “Today Roma fully deserved to win and we put up absolutely no resistance. It’s a difficult moment for us, but we know over a whole season these blips can occur. We are working to get past it and must roll up our sleeves.”
Luciano Spalletti: Comments

Napoli 2-2 Cagliari
Comments.

Reggina 3-1 Atalanta
Nevio Orlandi: “I changed a few players from the Udinese game, but the mentality remained the same with everyone ready to work for the team, starting from the strikers. There was no controversy with Bernardo Corradi. Last Sunday he sat on the bench and cheered on his teammates.”
Gigi Del Neri: “The defeat may be clear in terms of result, but not in what happened on the pitch. They scored two goals from set plays and we hit the woodwork twice in the first half. Reggina deserved the win, but mainly because incidents went their way. We need to play with the same intensity on our travels that we have on home turf.”

Sampdoria 3-0 Catania
Walter Mazzarri: “I am truly very happy because finally our results match the performances. We are able to finalise our chances better, helped by Claudio Bellucci’s return to fitness and the great form Antonio Cassano is in. Marcello Lippi is welcome to come and watch Cassano whenever he likes, but it’s not up to me to make suggestions.”
Walter Zenga: “The referee was the Man of the Match today. When it was still 1-0 we should have had a penalty, but aside from individual incidents I didn’t like the way he officiated throughout the match. We fought Samp on level terms, even though we went a goal down immediately. Cassano makes the difference, which we knew.”

Wk13: Roma back in business
Roma's renaissance continued at Lecce, but a last-gasp Cagliari goal stops Napoli going second. Diego Milito is hero and villain in Rome. Reports
