Sunday 23 November, 2008 |
| Juventus general manager Jean-Claude Blanc moans they were beaten by one of the stupidest goals in the history of football.
Last night's Derby d'Italia was decided when Sulley Ali Muntari tapped in a wayward Zlatan Ibrahimovic shot, while Alex Manninger watched it dribble past him as he sheepishly called for an offside flag.
We conceded one of the stupidest goals in the history of football, almost ridiculous, in fact, but we paid a heavy price for it because it was worth the three points, said Blanc.
Having said that, Inter deserve praise, as they played a tough game and were able to take advantage of the chances they had.
This result leaves the Bianconeri six points adrift of the Serie A leaders, so are their ambitions crushed?
It depends on what you thought our squad was aiming for, mused the general manager.
However I don't think that now, despite Inter's victory, the Scudetto is so very far away. The gap may seem huge to some, but we are not even half way through the season.
Let us not forget that the table only needs to be calculated in May.
