Sulley's close shave
Sunday 23 November, 2008

He was the decisive figure in the Derby d'Italia, but Sulley Ali Muntari admits, “I almost missed it!”

The Inter midfielder tapped in from a couple of yards to secure last night's 1-0 victory over Juventus, redirecting Zlatan Ibrahimovic's wayward shot.

“I almost missed it! If I got the ball with full contact, it would have gone out,” he smiled after shinning it past Alex Manninger.

“Above all I am happy that the team got the three points, because this was certainly not an easy task.”

The result ensures Inter continue to lead Serie A regardless of today's results and move six points clear of Scudetto rivals Juventus.

“Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We have not won the title yet and know full well it will be a long, tough road ahead.

“We are going to have to show the same level of concentration and commitment against every opponent.”
