| | | | | | Amauri's San Siro ambition |
Saturday 22 November, 2008 |
| Amauri is certainly not lacking ambition ahead of his first Derby d'Italia. It would be the best to score at San Siro with an overhead kick.
The Juventus hitman is looking forward to tonight's battle with the man he essentially replaced, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and they have had a very similar scoring average this season.
At Chievo some would call me 'our Ibra', a comparison that made me very happy, because he is a champion, the Brazilian told newspaper La Stampa.
Perhaps they saw in us a similar way of playing tricks with the ball. I watched him play in the Champions League and thought to myself, one day I would be there on level terms with him.
I don't want to stop here, though. I haven't achieved anything at Juve yet and still have to prove that I belong here.
Amauri has that opportunity this evening when he pays a visit to Serie A leaders Inter.
It is my dream to score an overhead kick. I've done it in training, but never in an official match situation. I hit the bar, it went just over or the goalkeeper got it. To break that duck at San Siro would be the best.
Inter have lost only one competitive game all season and Juve are coming off seven straight wins, so would Amauri be content with a draw?
Not a chance! I play to win and I can guarantee that's what all my teammates are thinking, too.
