Ranieri awaits Inter epic
Friday 21 November, 2008

Juventus Coach Claudio Ranieri concedes the Old Lady have “more to lose” when they face Inter, but he is looking forward to the challenge.

All eyes will be on San Siro tomorrow evening as leaders Inter host third-placed Juve in a grudge match.

“I certainly won't need to motivate my players,” Ranieri affirmed in today's Press conference.

“I would pay to win this game, even though the League is decided in spring.

“There is no doubt that we have more to lose. If Inter do win, we will be six points behind them.

“But this is a match that goes beyond Serie A. It will be a great game, which will be vibrant and fast, like last year's encounter.

“There is a sense of dedication from the players and they live for the big matches like this.

“Inter are the team to beat, but we have made giant steps forward and now we need to close the gap between us.”

Ranieri concluded by joining Jose Mourinho in playing down the reported tension between the two men.

“It is Inter against Juve and not Ranieri against Mourinho,” he stated. “I will shake his hand in the tunnel with pleasure. Jose is well-prepared and a Portuguese tactician who likes to play like an Italian.”
