Figo sees superior Inter
Wednesday 19 November, 2008

Inter veteran Luis Figo could return from injury for this weekend's Derby d'Italia and has issued Juventus with a warning. “We are the better team.”

The Portuguese winger has been sidelined since last September when he fractured the third metatarsal in his right foot.

After a long rehabilitation process, Figo is finally ready to play again and could make his comeback in the biggest of games - this Saturday's grudge match against Juventus.

“We just have to focus on our own game,” Figo told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I'm not being politically correct - we are the better team and we must always win at home.

“I think Jose Mourinho is right to say it is best to face Juve after a seven-game winning streak.

“I'm not saying the Old Lady will be relaxed, but they would certainly have been more fired up if they were in crisis!”

On a personal level, the 36-year-old is delighted to be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

“It's really hard to start over because you have to work even more and train in spite of the pain,” Figo said.

“Did I consider retiring? Yes I did, but I soon got rid of that idea.”

Figo concluded by discussing disgraced ex-Juventus director Luciano Moggi.

The Nerazzurri ace was fined for accusing Moggi of entering referee Gianluca Paparesta's dressing room but the former Bianconeri man was later indicted in the Calciopoli saga.

“I have never seen the money back,” Figo joked. “I think Moggi deserves more than the six-year sentence the prosecution have asked for.

“He was in football for so long and six years are simply not enough after all his misdeeds.”
