Prandelli: Away we go!
Sunday 16 November, 2008

Cesare Prandelli is convinced Fiorentina can win in Sardinia despite Cagliari's impressive recent form.

The Rossoblu had a disastrous start to the season, but have picked up seven points from their last three home games.

“We worked all week to be ready for this test and to win the match,” said Prandelli.

“Cagliari are organised, they play good football and will have a lot of enthusiasm at the moment. We need to keep in the game with the attitude of a team that goes away from home to take control.

“We must find consistency in terms of both performance and results on our travels as well as in Florence.”

Fiorentina have famously always struggled to replicate their home form around the country, although there has been an improvement recently.

They won two on the trot at Chievo and Palermo, but lost 1-0 at local rivals Siena in their latest visit.

Prandelli must still do without the injured Adrian Mutu, while Dario Dainelli has been laid low with gastroenteritis and Pablo Daniel Osvaldo has a muscular problem.

The good news is that Juan Manuel Vargas returns and Per Kroldrup takes over in central defence.

Once again, Stevan Jovetic is expected to take on Mutu's role in the attacking trident.

Fiorentina squad: Almiron, Avramov, Comotto, Da Costa, Donadel, Frey, Gamberini, Gilardino, Gobbi, Jovetic, Kroldrup, Kuzmanovic, Melo, Montolivo, Pazzini, Santana, Semioli, Storari, Vargas, Zauri
