Becks tweaks Milan schedule
Saturday 15 November, 2008

LA Galaxy have rushed to quash reports David Beckham is working to extend his Milan stay beyond March 2009.

The club agreed to loan Beckham to the Rossoneri until the new MLS season kicks off in March, but with Serie A and the UEFA Cup in full swing, he is eager to remain until the summer.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Becks’ medical and official presentation at San Siro was set for next Thursday.

However, a phone call changed their plans and it will not now take place until after December 6 with the organised training camp in Dubai running from December 29 to January 7.

Golden Balls is set to make his debut in a Milan jersey in a friendly against Hamburg.

The newspaper reports that Beckham is already at work with his agents to extend the terms of the contract so that he can stay at Milan for the remainder of the Serie A season.

“As highlighted last week David has signed a loan agreement with Milan for a two-month period and no discussions have taken place with regard to extending that deal,” insisted spokesman Simon Oliveira.

A statement from LA Galaxy also quashed the claims emanating from the Italian media.

"Reports that David Beckham is in advanced talks to extend his loan move beyond March are untrue. We look forward to having David back with us for the start of the 2009 MLS season."
