Thursday 13 November, 2008 |
| Inter striker Adriano could be facing a period of enforced exile from Serie A, possibly lasting until 2012.
The Brazilian hitman was frozen out of the first team under Roberto Mancini, but he re-launched his career on loan to Sao Paulo.
Under Jose Mourinho, Adriano seemed to be on the way back to his best, but in recent weeks he has gone off the rails once more.
Adri's lifestyle off the pitch has again been called into question after absences and late attendance at training.
The ex-Parma man called in sick on Monday and has been told by the Beneamata directors that there will be repercussions.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mourinho's patience has been exhausted and he has called for the 26-year-old to be sold abroad.
And it has been reported that Inter want to impose a clause in the contract stating that Adriano isn't allowed to return to Italy until 2012.
This seems to be a measure to prevent L'Imperatore from joining city rivals Milan, who have flirted with him in the past.
