| Roma goalkeeper Alexander Doni is desperate to play in next weekend's Derby della Capitale despite suffering a head injury on Saturday.
The struggling Giallorossi take on high-flying Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico next Sunday evening in the battle for bragging rights in the Eternal City.
There are fears that they could be without No 1 Doni, who sustained a head injury when he bravely flung himself at Marco Di Vaio's feet during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Bologna.
I think I will be able to play and I don't think I will have any major problems, Doni told the Corriere dello Sport.
In a week I expect everything to be fine, but I will have to see what the doctor says.
It was just an accident. The medical team told me that Di Vaio's studs caused the wound to my head, but I didn't notice anything.
I was scared at first, but I soon realised it was nothing too serious. I didn't have any headaches or dizziness, so I was able to leave the hospital and return to Rome with my teammates.
