Udinese may still be in the running for the Champions League, but they are not among the 13 Serie A clubs awarded a UEFA licence.
The list of sides given the licence for next season’s competitions are Atalanta, Fiorentina, Genoa, Inter, Juventus, Lazio, Milan, Napoli, Palermo, Parma, Roma, Sampdoria and Torino.
However, Udinese are not on the list and are already qualified for the 2008-09 UEFA Cup.
Those clubs excluded from the rundown will have five days to present an appeal.
It is not the first time Udinese have run into trouble, as they have long been involved in a row with the local council over restructuring work for the Stadio Friuli.
