Luciano Spalletti points out “I’ll decide my future at the end of the season” and focuses on a crunch match with Cagliari.
President Rosella Sensi made the statement on Roma Channel and only a few hours later the response was not what she expected.
“It is always pleasing to hear you are respected,” said Spalletti. “Sensi knows how I feel. We have talked about it and will discuss this again.
“I know I could have done more than I did and that is the crucial thing. I will meet with the club at the end of the season and will say what I see fit.
“The people outside the club will be told of the situation at the right time, because there are certain moments in which to express information.”
The Giallorossi tactician confessed last week that “something has changed” in his relationship after dropping out of the race for a Champions League spot.
Instead on Sunday they face a head-to-head with Cagliari to cling on to the sixth UEFA Cup position.
“This match represents a great deal and there is an important position in the balance. It may not be the top of the table, but it still allows us some visibility. Reaching the UEFA Cup would be important for the club.
“Finishing sixth is not as bad as you think… as long as it only happens the once.”
