Juventus outcast Sergio Almiron has returned to Turin ahead of schedule after an injury brought a premature end to his loan spell at Monaco.
The Argentine midfielder joined Juventus from Empoli last summer for around £7m, but he failed to make his mark this term.
After just five starts for the Old Lady, the 27-year-old was sent to Ligue 1 outfit Monaco to give him a chance of regular first-team football.
Having failed to win over the Stade Louis II faithful, an injury to his right thigh brought an end to Almirons unglorious time in the principality.
Monaco had been offered the option to make the transfer permanent for a fixed fee believed to be around £5m but President Michel Pastor has opted to allow him to return to base.
With Mohamed Sissoko winning plaudits and further reinforcements likely, Almiron may find himself sent out on loan again next term or even sold.
Empoli have previously expressed an interest in bringing Almiron back, but he has snubbed the idea of returning the Stadio Castellani.
