Milan President Silvio Berlusconi calmed the controversy with Inter by stating “they deserve the Scudetto.”
The patron who is also Prime Minister of Italy had criticised the Nerazzurri by suggesting if it hadn’t been for Adriano’s handball goal in the derby, the gap to the leaders would’ve been far smaller.
Inter President Massimo Moratti hit back by stating the Rossoneri had received a “record” number of penalties this season.
“I think that for what they did in this season, Inter deserve the Scudetto and will probably win it,” commented Berlusconi in the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“They showed on the pitch that they are the strongest side in Serie A.”
Inter need only two more victories from the remaining four rounds to be sure of lifting the title.
However, if Milan lose at home to Juventus on Sunday night, the celebrations would be brought forward.
