Theres chaos at Lazio as sporting director Walter Sabatini and general secretary Giampiero Persichetti both resign in the space of 24 hours.
After last seasons third-placed finish, the capital club had high hopes for this term, but it has been an unmitigated disaster.
Languishing in mid-table, Wednesday nights exit from the Coppa Italia ended any chance of UEFA Cup football for next term and has sparked a backroom exodus.
Persichetti, who was already at the club when President Claudio Lotito took charge in 2004, felt that his position was untenable after a series of rows with the man in charge.
And just hours later, Sabatini, who nearly quit in September after coming under fire for his poor work in the summer transfer market, also gave his notice.
Sabatini was blamed for the aborted signing of Argentine goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo and the disappointing acquisitions of Fernando Muslera and David Rozehnal.
The transfer guru was also in disagreement with Lotito over the clubs best course of action for the future of Swiss international Valon Behrami, who is expected to leave Rome in the summer.
