Reggina defender Bruno Cirillo is ready for Sunday’s relegation D-day against Empoli and is hoping to extend his stay in Calabria.
After a superb run of form, Reggina have climbed out of the drop zone and are two points away from the trapdoor with two games remaining.
The Stadio Granillo outfit host fellow strugglers Empoli this weekend and know that a victory would secure their Serie A status – a huge motivation for influential defender Cirillo.
“On Sunday we will go out to play in a sold-out stadium and we will show that we have a crazed desire to secure survival,” the Levante loan star said on Siamo Tutti Ct.
“After having beaten Parma and Catania we have to try and beat a side on form in Empoli.
“It will be a difficult game, but we have the advantage of playing at home and we will do whatever it takes.”
Cirillo is due to go back to Levante at the end of the season, but he is keen to extend his third spell at Reggina.
“I am only on loan, but I don’t think that I will return to Spain because of various problems,” he explained.
“I hope that President Lillo Foti can tie me to Reggina because this has become my second hometown.”
