Lazio boss Delio Rossi was disappointed with their Coppa Italia exit, but warned not to throw the entire campaign away.
This was a microcosm of our entire season. We play good football, but just like the first leg Inter achieved the maximum result with the minimum effort, commented the Coach after their 2-0 semi-final defeat.
We cared about this competition and the lads gave everything, so I can only thank them.
It is a poor end to their campaign, as this was the Biancocelestis only chance of reaching the UEFA Cup.
The exit prompted a protest from Lazio fans who forced owner Claudio Lotito out of the stands.
Lazio have not been up to the right standard this season, but I think we have the foundations to do better. The important thing is we dont throw the baby out with the bathwater, insisted Rossi.
I have a contract and we will discuss it with the President, but it isnt the right time to talk about it.
