Dinho injury discouraged Milan?
Tuesday 6 May, 2008

A sensational report claims the reason Milan have given up on signing Ronaldinho is a serious injury that could end his career.

The Rossoneri had been in advanced negotiations with Barcelona for the player and already agreed personal terms with his agent.

However, on Sunday President Silvio Berlusconi announced the deal was off. “We do not need Ronaldinho.”

Now the reasoning behind this turnaround might be clarified, as the website of Spanish newspaper ADN published a shock report this evening.

“Physically he is in far worse condition than people think,” a source from the Delfos clinic in Barcelona was quoted as saying.

The newspaper suggests the muscular injury that has kept Ronaldinho out for a month is career-threatening and means he might never again play at the highest level.

Inter have also given up on their interest in the Brazilian, so only Manchester City remain with an offer of £31.5m.

According to ADN and Globoesporte, Ronaldinho underwent the tests in a private clinic without Barca’s knowledge.
