Amauri keeps Palermo focus
Monday 5 May, 2008

Despite rumours linking him with Juventus, Brazilian striker Amauri has claimed he is 100 per cent focused on Palermo.

The Rosanero striker has scored 15 goals in 33 appearances and his campaign has been superb so far, making him one of Serie A's hottest properties.

“Juventus lost? I am sorry, but I am only bothered about Palermo at the moment,” insisted Amauri.

The Sicilians were successful 2-1 against Lazio on Sunday afternoon, with the Brazilian scoring a late brace to secure the win.

“Following this victory I want to give Palermo all the six points left until the end of this campionato,” he revealed.

“I want to win the last two games to end it well here at the Barbera. Palermo have helped me become important and famous, so I have to thank them for it.”

Meanwhile, Rosanero Coach Stefano Colantuono believes his team proved they still have the right attitude despite having little left to play for.

“We have shown to be great professionals and we will do it until May 18, because that is what we are paid for,” he said.

“Lazio had lots of chances but didn't take them, so they were punished. We are in 10th place, but I am not thinking about the Intertoto Cup yet.” he concluded.
