Former Cagliari boss Marco Giampaolo has denied talk regarding a move to Napoli or Lazio at the end of this season.
Giampaolo, who is one of Serie A's brightest emerging tacticians, claimed he won't be moving to the Vesuviani this summer.
However, Lazio would reportedly also be interested in signing him, while Torino have been linked to him before.
“I have had no contact with either Lazio or Napoli,” he told Tuttomercatoweb.com.
“I don't want to offer myself for the Napoli job, but if they did contact me then I would obviously be happy.
“But still, I have respect for my colleagues who are doing their jobs well so I don't want to add anything else.
“There is nothing true about Torino, even before when I was under contract with Cagliari,” explained the ex-Ascoli boss.
Giampaolo's relationship with Isolani President Massimo Cellino was never easy, which is why he says he won't return to Sardinia again.
“I did well when I went back there and I felt really good. I know the team and it is not surprising for me to see them still fighting. However, regarding my relationship with Cellino I prefer not to answer…
“In my opinion Robert Acquafresca will be Serie A's top striker one day. He has talent and just needed a bit of confidence. That is why he shouldn't move to a big team just yet.
Step by step, I am sure he will earn a call to the Nazionale,” enthused the 40-year-old tactician.
Cagliari are still struggling to escape the relegation battle, but their situation has improved drastically in the last couple of weeks.
“They have a good advantage over their rivals and are in great shape. I don't see why they shouldn't avoid relegation.” he concluded.
