Zlatan Ibrahimovic misses the derby, but insists he’ll be back for the end of Inter’s season and “in top shape for Euro 2008.”
The striker has been in Sweden for several weeks for treatment on a left knee problem and the date of his return was repeatedly put back, suggesting he would be out for the campaign.
“There are still three Serie A games left and potentially another two in the Coppa Italia,” he told local newspaper Sydsvenskan.
“I think I will be ready to play in eight days for the game against Siena on Sunday 11 May.”
That would mean Ibrahimovic’s Inter comeback at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, possibly with the Scudetto already won.
There are question marks over the Swede’s future at the Stadio Meazza and his attention is turned primarily to the European Championship.
“I will be in top shape for Euro 2008,” he assured.
Ibra’s last Serie A appearance for the Nerazzurri was in the 1-1 draw with Lazio on March 29.
