Giancarlo Camolese hopes Torino can rely on their “combative nature” to shock Fiorentina this afternoon.
“Our objective is to get a positive result at the Stadio Franchi,” said the Granata Coach.
“I hope to see a Toro side with its combative nature to the forefront, albeit against a Fiorentina team capable of causing us huge problems.
“We are acutely aware that we must never lose our heads and remain concentrated all the way through.”
This game is even more important following Saturday’s results, as Reggina won 2-1 away to Bologna and increased the pressure on the relegation dogfight.
Torino are without Eugenio Corini, Marco Di Loreto, Elvis Abbruscato, Paolo Zanetti, Andrea Gasbarroni and Nicola Ventola.
Winger Ignazio Abate was also added to the absentee list after coming down with tonsillitis this week.
There will be a minute's silence before kick-off in honour of the Superga air crash victims, who died on May 4 1949.
On Monday captain Alessandro Rosina will stand on the Superga mountain and read the names of the Grande Torino players who perished in what remains the darkest day in Italian football.
Torino squad: Barone, Bianchi, Calderoni, Colombo, D'Onofrio, Diana, Dzemaili, Fontana, Franceschini, Lerda, Natali, Ogbonna, Pratali, Rivalta, Rosina, Rubin, Saumel, Sereni, Stellone, Vailatti.
