Cesare Prandelli urges Fiorentina to keep their foot on the accelerator for the final five rounds if they are to keep fourth place.
“It will certainly be a struggle against Torino, as [Coach Giancarlo] Camolese is excellent at preparing for games,” said the Viola boss.
“We are extremely motivated and I hope to see the Stadio Franchi with the same magical atmosphere we saw against Roma.
“We want to get the result, but must not rush matters. I don’t want to risk conceding five counter-attacks.”
Fiorentina leapt into the Champions League spot last week thanks to their 4-1 win over Roma and Genoa’s second consecutive defeat.
“We are aware of the difficulties that await us and that is already a good starting point. It was a great performance against Roma, but at the same time we were also fortunate.”
Prandelli was in no mood for playing tactical games, though, and announced his line-up for Sunday’s encounter with Torino.
“[Zdravko] Kuzmanovic will play in midfield with [Riccardo] Montolivo, while we only have a small doubt surrounding [Juan Manuel] Vargas’ fitness.”
If Vargas does not recover from a knee twinge, then either Martin Jorgensen or Massimo Gobbi will take over.
“We need a victory for both our position in the table and our confidence. We have to be in the game from start to finish, remembering we can score a goal at any moment.
“Leading the pack is a good place to be, but we must continue to deserve that position with our performances.”
Fiorentina (probable): Frey, Comotto, Gamberini, Dainelli, Pasqual; Semioli, Kuzmanovic, Montolivo, Vargas; Jovetic, Gilardino
