Milan’s Brazilian superstars are coming to Sicily, but Giuseppe Mascara of Catania thinks he could steal the show from Ronaldinho.
The striker has hit the headlines this season with a series of stunning goals, including a volley from the centre-circle, earning him the nickname Mascarinho.
“It is an honour for me to be compared to Ronaldinho and now it will be a particular pleasure to come face to face with him,” said the Italian.
“I don’t wake up on a Sunday morning with the idea of scoring a goal from 40 metres. Clearly if I find myself in that situation and the ball has the right bounce to it, why not?
“However, I do not step on to the pitch looking to score for my personal gain, I only focus on the needs of the team.”
Catania are now safe from the threat of relegation and so have no pressure on them when welcoming second-placed Milan.
“I have been at Catania for five years and the fans know that we always challenge everybody, especially at home,” continued Mascara.
“Now we are even more confident and can give it our all for the victory in these final five matches.
“Nobody gave us anything, so we will not do favours for anybody, including Milan.”
