Momo feels for Ranieri
Friday 29 May, 2009

Juventus midfielder Momo Sissoko has stressed his sympathy for Claudio Ranieri and praised the Old Lady's new additions.

The Mali international's season ended early after he broke a bone in his left foot in early March.

Sissoko had to sit out the Bianconeri's slump that cost former boss Ranieri his job.

“I feel better now, but I would have liked to be available during the tough phase,” Sissoko told Calciomercato.com.

“I would have tried to help the team, but our problem was mental rather than physical.

“I feel sorry for Ranieri, especially because he's the man who chose to sign me and bring me to Juve.”

Sissoko then discussed the problem of racism after Juve's last home game against Atalanta was played behind closed doors for insults aimed at Mario Balotelli.

“I have never been the victim of racism in Turin,” Sissoko insisted. “These things should never happen in the football world.”

The ex-Liverpool man then looked forward to next season and praised the signings Juve have made so far.

“Diego and Fabio Cannavaro are strong players,” Sissoko enthused.

“I hope that Juve can return to greatness with them on board. If other good players arrive then that's good, but this is a very competitive squad already.”
