Roma's Brazilian international defender Juan has signed a contract extension with the Lupi.
Juan joined Roma from Bayer Leverkusen in 2007 for just under £5m and he has played 42 games for the Giallorossi since.
There had been rumours linking the 30-year-old with a switch to one of La Liga's giants, but he is now ready to commit to his current employers.
Roma and Juan would like to announce that they have agreed to extend the player's contract until June 30, 2013, a statement from Roma reads.
Juan will receive £4.5m for the 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons. He will get £4.6m for 2011-12 and 2012-13 as well as performance-related bonuses.
The central defender had been under contract until 2011 but this move is a sign that Roma don't intend to scale down their ambitions after failing to qualify for the Champions League.
