Inter captain Javier Zanetti has congratulated Roma on their Cup victory yesterday evening. “They are a great team.”
During a tense title race, which saw Inter prevail at the death, there was some friction between the Nerazzurri and their rivals from the capital.
However, it seems that there are no hard feelings after Roma lifted the Coppa Italia by beating the champions 2-1.
While Coach Roberto Mancini is refusing to talk to the Press as speculation grows over his future, Zanetti praised the triumphant Romans.
“We played well, but we were seen off by a great team, who also handled themselves very well throughout the League season,” he explained on Rai.
“It was a good game, which was very competitive from the first whistle.
“We are very happy to have won the Scudetto and also that Roma have won the Cup. We will see what happens next year.
What’s will happen with Mancini? The players are with him and the club and we will fight as hard as we can for these colours,” Zanetti concluded.
